About
A small workshop that takes old things seriously
We restore furniture and objects for people who would rather repair than replace. The work is done by hand, in Singapore, by people who have spent years looking after things that cannot be bought again.

Where we come from
Restored grew out of Art Framing Group, a Singapore group that has restored, framed and cared for artworks and objects since 2015. Over that time a steady stream of things arrived at the bench that were not paintings or prints: a cabinet with a split door, a clock case, a lacquered box, a carved panel, a pair of chairs from someone's grandmother's house.
We restored them anyway, and found we were good at it. This site exists so that work has a proper home, with its own name and its own front door.
The habits carry over from the art side. Look carefully before touching anything. Keep what is original. Make repairs that a future restorer can undo. Write down what was done.
How we work
Assess first
Every job starts with photographs and a conversation about what you want the piece to be: fully restored, stabilised, or simply made safe to use.
Keep the original
Old surfaces, old hardware and old marks are part of the piece. We clean and consolidate before we ever consider stripping or replacing.
Reversible where it matters
On antique pieces we use adhesives and methods that can be undone, so our work does not become the next restorer's problem.
Honest about limits
Some pieces are not worth restoring and some work is not ours to do. We say so, and point you to someone who can help.
Document everything
Photographs before, during and after, and a short written summary of what was done, sent back with the piece.
Made for this climate
Humidity and air-conditioning are hard on old timber. We finish and advise with Singapore conditions in mind.

The workshop
The workshop is at 48 Toh Guan Road East, #07-127 Enterprise Hub, Singapore 608586, where the repair, finishing and decorative work is done. You are welcome to visit to see finished work and talk through a piece in person, by appointment.
We collect and return across Singapore. Most pieces never need you to visit at all.
